New Thought Science of Mind

New Thought in its current form is a relatively new spiritual denomination. Its beliefs and practices, however, are ancient. Appearing early in the 20th century, Religious Science was founded by Ernest Holmes, who was a student of many world traditions. He took the essential principles of truth from those traditions - refreshingly leaving the dogma and rigidity behind - and wove them into a teaching far more accessible for people of today.

Religious Science teaches that there are naturally occurring spiritual laws or principles that govern the universe. Once we learn about these laws, we can begin to apply them consciously in our lives to heal, enrich, and deepen our spiritual experience.

Perhaps the simplest and most elegant expression of these laws is this:

It is done unto you as you believe.

What Religious Science teaches is how to deeply examine our beliefs, feelings, attitudes, and habits. We learn to explore consciousness in a new way - not as a curiosity, but with the understanding that it is our individualized consciousness that determines the experience we have of life. The Science of Mind teaches affirmative prayer, also known as spiritual mind treatment, as the means to change our belief at depth. It is this spiritual tool that we use to build consciousness. As we learn to change how we think and what we believe, we can change our lives for the better.
